Your Role as a Dental Hygienist

About Tru Family Dental

Each Heartland Dental-supported office is unique to its community and the patients it serves. With a dedicated practice manager and a highly trained team, you’ll have all the resources you need to succeed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current dental hygienist license in Illinois and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required).
  • Strong knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, and patient screening.
  • CPR Certification.
Preferred Experience
  • No prior clinical experience required.
  • Familiarity with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems.
  • A desire to continue learning and growing your clinical skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
  • Availability for periodic virtual or in-person training sessions.
  • A tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions.
