JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

REPORTS TO: General Manager (dotted line-VP, Human Resources )

EFFECTIVE DATE: May 2025

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role supports business needs and ensures the proper implementation of the company's strategy and objectives related to HR. The HR Manager fosters a positive workplace culture, ensures compliance with employment laws, and drives initiatives to attract, develop, and retain talent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Strategy & Change Management

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy and operational changes • Partner with leadership to identify and address organizational needs • Drive process improvements and modernize HR practices • Support current and future business needs through employee development, engagement, motivation, and retention

Performance Management & Development

• Oversee and manage annual performance appraisal systems for hourly and salaried employees that drive high performance • Train managers on performance documentation and support performance improvement plans • Assess training needs and coordinate learning and development programs for employees • Lead the design and implementation of employee development plans • Support leadership development, coaching, and succession planning • Ensure required compliance training is completed • Coordinate safety training and certification programs

Employee Relations & Labor Relations

• Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, complaints, and workplace conflicts • Conduct investigations, mediate disputes, and support progressive discipline processes • Handle disciplinary procedures and terminations in accordance with company policy • Support positive relationships between management and employees • Ensure fair and consistent application of policies • Nurture a positive working environment and promote company values and culture • Serve as first point of contact for all HR questions and maintain open-door policy

Recruitment, Retention & Onboarding

• Manage full-cycle recruitment and selection process for seasonal and permanent positions to attract top talent • Develop retention strategies to reduce turnover and build talent pipelines for hard-to-fill positions • Create and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new employees

Benefits, Compensation & Leave Administration

• Maintain pay plan and benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits • Manage annual benefits enrollment, employee communications, and payroll processing • Process and coordinate leaves of absence (FMLA, workers' compensation, disability) • Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs • Resolve payroll issues and coordinate time and attendance matters

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management with federal, state, and local employment laws • Maintain I-9 records, work authorization documentation, and confidential employee files according to policy and legal requirements • Oversee safety compliance, OSHA requirements, and workplace audits • Manage required postings, notifications, regulatory filings, and address compliance gaps

HR Administration & Operations

• Maintain employee database and process employment changes (new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations) • Generate HR reports and metrics for management decision support • Manage employee handbook, policy updates, and verification of employment requests • Coordinate with external vendors (insurance brokers, attorneys, consultants) • Prepare and maintain HR budget • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required • At least 3 years of human resource management experience preferred • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus • Experience with HRIS or HCM systems preferred • Bilingual abilities are an advantage
