Certified Welding Inspector (Structural Steel) - CWI

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector / Structural Steel Inspector (CWI) for our Tampa, Florida office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Primary duties include performing structural building inspections and QA/QC tests (masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Perform Structural Steel Inspections in accordance with code and project requirements
• Interpret project plans and specifications and ensure project requirements are being met.
• Activities will include performing field testing and inspections
• Review plans and specifications, performing the inspections accordingly
• Communicate results with contractors, engineers and others
• Input results and observations into daily reports

Requirements:

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required
• Ability to pass background check with clean MVR

Preferred:

• Construction materials testing (CMT) and threshold inspection experience is preferred
• UT Level II is preferred, but not required
• AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5 experience a plus
• International Code Council (ICC) certifications are preferred, but not required: Structural Welding, Structural Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel and Bolting
