NOVA is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for projects in the Charleston, SC area with some travel throughout the Carolinas. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Primary duties include performing structural steel inspections and QA/QC tests for commercial building and transportation/bridge projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform Structural Inspections in accordance with code and project requirements
• Interpret project plans and specifications and ensure project requirements are being met
• Perform field testing and inspections
• Review plans and specifications, performing the inspections accordingly
• Communicate results with contractors, engineers and others
• Input results and observations into daily reports

Requirements

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
• Construction materials testing (CMT) and inspection experience is preferred
• AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5 experience a plus

Preferred

• ICC certifications are a huge plus: Structural Welding, Structural Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel and Bolting
