About Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a range of behavioral health issues for young adolescents. A Registered Nurse (RN) in a Residential Treatment Center (RTC) position is primarily responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, implementing treatment plans, educating patients and families, and maintaining detailed medical records, while prioritizing the needs of individuals in a residential setting.

Primary duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Regularly evaluate physical and mental health status, vital signs, behavioral changes, withdrawal symptoms, and documentation of observations in medical records. Round to assess compliance with precautions/observations.
  • Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Treatment Plan Implementation: Participate in the development of individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed (or license eligible) in the State of Tennessee
  • Associate Degree
  • Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
  • Phlebotomy
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Disorders
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
