FUNdraiser Event Volunteers for Kinship House (age 16+) Referral
Volunteers will be helping with Kinship Houses annual fundraiser, Light the Way. This year, Light the Way will be held on October 23 from 6-8 pm at Irving Street Studio in downtown Portland. Volunteers can expect to be assigned to roles like attending to the silent auction, selling raffle tickets, managing event games, paddle raise recording, and other tasks. All roles will require interacting with guests, recording bid numbers, and fundraising for Kinship House. Specific volunteer instructions will be provided to each volunteer before the night of the event. Kinship House provides therapy and advocacy for children experiencing foster care and adoption. We support them as they work through trauma, connect with safe adults, and build stable futures. With the support of volunteers, local businesses, and our community, Light the Way raises critical, unrestricted funding to provide mental health supports to some of the most vulnerable children in our community.
Volunteers will learn more about how nonprofit fundraising galas are run. But more importantly, we hope that our volunteers will learn more about the state of foster care in our community and how necessary it is to provide mental health support to these kids.
