We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable
Safety Manager
to lead and manage safety initiatives at Sunkist Growers. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations. You’ll partner with senior leadership to promote a strong culture of safety, implement standardized safety policies, and drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety practices. $86,000.00/yr - $126,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and other relevant regulations across all business units. Develop, implement, and maintain safety documentation and programs, including IIPP, HazCom, LOTO, EAP, Workplace Violence Prevention, and more. Design and manage the company-wide safety training program; lead training on emergency preparedness, forklift safety, heat illness prevention, CPR/first aid, and other critical topics. Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with HR, third-party vendors, and workers’ comp carriers to manage claims and drive resolution. Conduct periodic facility safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and correct hazards. Monitor internal safety controls and align safety procedures with corporate goals and legal requirements. Serve as the corporate safety liaison, ensuring consistency and accountability across business units. Maintain and report safety metrics, trends, and incident data to leadership. Oversee hazardous and toxic waste management programs and environmental compliance documentation. Lead and coordinate third-party audits related to workers' compensation, liability, and fleet safety. Mentor and guide safety committees or safety liaisons at local sites. Key Requirements
5–10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Health, or related field. Certification in safety (e.g., BCSP, OSHA training) preferred. Deep knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations, waste management, and environmental health. Valid driver’s license required; ability to travel 20–40% using a company-provided vehicle. Strong experience with safety audits, risk mitigation, incident investigation, and safety program implementation. Excellent communication, collaboration, and training skills with the ability to engage a multicultural workforce. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with safety tracking/reporting systems is a plus. Why Sunkist
