The

Hot Shot CDL A Driver

to support our construction, aggregate, and industrial operations. The driver will be responsible for hauling equipment, parts, and materials between job sites, plants, and vendor locations, often on expedited ("hot shot") runs. This position requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, safe driving practices, and a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork. PRIMARY DUTIES

Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle (pickup with gooseneck, flatbed, or tractor-trailer) to transport equipment, machinery, and construction materials

Perform local, regional, and occasional long-haul deliveries to Fisher Industries plants, quarries, and project sites

Handle hot shot/expedited loads that require timely delivery to minimize job site downtime

Conduct daily pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues promptly

Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and other industry-standard methods

Maintain accurate logs, delivery paperwork, fuel receipts, and ELD records

Communicate regularly with dispatch and project managers regarding delivery status, delays, and job site requirements

Assist with loading/unloading of equipment and materials as needed

Comply with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards at all times

Maintain cleanliness of truck, trailer, and assigned equipment

Represent Fisher Industries in a professional manner with clients, vendors, and team members

Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record

Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience

Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, and background check

Experience with load securement, tie-downs, and safe operation of flatbed/gooseneck trailers

Strong time management and organizational skills

Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and overtime as needed

Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading

Prior experience hauling construction equipment, aggregates, or heavy machinery

Familiarity with hot shot/expedited freight work

Mechanical aptitude to identify and troubleshoot minor truck or trailer issues

Knowledge of regional routes, quarry operations, and construction job site safety protocols

Exposure to outdoor environments including dust, mud, heat, cold, and inclement weather

Frequent travel between job sites, with occasional overnight stays

Operation around active construction, quarry, and plant sites requiring PPE

Extended periods of driving, climbing in/out of trucks, chaining/strapping loads, and other physical activity
