Overview
Vice President of Finance and Administration (VPFA) role for a business/entrepreneur focused institute. This is a newly created position reporting to the president. The role leads finance, campus center operations, security and risk management, technology, and human resources; actively participates on Finance & Audit and Risk & Compliance committees of the board of trustees. The position requires on-site work and commuting to Rochester four days a week until the Buffalo location opens. Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr Location and commuting Buffalo, NY area with required commuting to Rochester four days per week until the Buffalo location opens. Responsibilities
Ensuring Campus Center operations are effective and efficient, leading the Institute’s planning and implementation of appropriate technologies and disruptive AI solutions. Managing and facilitating discussions and planning regarding resource allocation and budgeting, working towards a financially sustainable operation in auxiliary services, building an exceptional workforce and more. Serving on the Institute’s Senior Leadership team to further policy and strategy; participating on board committees such as Finance & Audit and Risk & Compliance. Reinforcing values by engaging with the Institute community to drive positive culture; providing thought leadership that drives market engagement and inspiration; building positive relationships with sponsors and donors; and being a collaborative partner to the board of trustees, senior leadership colleagues, and the Institute community. Working collaboratively with leadership; managing departmental leaders in finance, campus center operations & auxiliary services, human resources, campus safety and risk investigation, and technology. Demonstrating expertise in financial management with experience in human resources, technology, auxiliary services, or other areas of nonprofit fiscal and non-fiscal management. Requirements
Minimum of 10 years in nonprofit and/or higher education. Domain expertise in finance, human resources, technology, operations, auxiliary services, or other administrative areas. Demonstrated success in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and operational leadership. Strong working knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles (GAAP) and compliance. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across Finance, HR, IT, and operations. Experience engaging with governing boards, committees and external stakeholders. Role is on-site. Evidence of an entrepreneurial mindset and attitude. Salary
