About The Role
The Content Strategist is a client-facing role responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist handles more Enterprise clients and should have a deep understanding of our service line and its impact on other areas of the business to create a holistic marketing strategy. Please note: internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.
What You'll Do
Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: Create custom strategies and implement best practices to achieve NSMs. Build initial client strategy during the project phase and optimize strategies over the client lifecycle using Directive best practices.
Collaborate with Associate Director (AsD) to address roadblocks affecting strategy and goal attainment.
Craft creative briefs and content campaigns with ideation based on competitor and audience insights.
Utilize best practices to position clients to exceed goals, including LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, and Content Production.
Goal Setting: Use available data to set client goals, approved by the AsD and reviewed in meetings with the client.
Data sources include Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush reporting, and Ahrefs reporting.
Project Management: Ensure strategy execution and clear task ownership using the project management tool Asana. Coordinate with Specialists, clients, and internal teams to meet timelines. Partner with Project Managers as needed to ensure tasks are created, assigned, and due dates met. Work closely with content writers and designers to deliver content campaigns on time and to standard.
Internal and External Communication: Build strong client relationships and proactively communicate with clients and internal leadership about timelines, progress, and opportunities. Use channels like Slack for ongoing updates between bi-weekly meetings.
Reporting: Regularly report progress and impact to clients. Cadence includes bi-weekly client meetings, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and bi-annual business reviews.
What You'll Bring
Proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using Google Analytics and related tools.
Strong communication skills; comfortable client-facing with key stakeholders.
Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
Proven organizational, project, and time management skills.
Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content.
Agency experience and B2B tech/SaaS experience required.

Work Environment Requirements
Remote-first role with the option to work from our Irvine, CA offices. Global opportunities may be available where we have established operations (Canada, UK, Australia) with work authorization and residency requirements. This role may operate 100% virtually from home; collaboration occurs via Zoom and Slack. You will need a reliable internet connection and a professional background.
