What To Expect
Supply Chain Manager (SCM) who is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of demand planning, engineering and development collaboration, and experience in managing complex supply chains. The SCM will work to develop supply chains of critical minerals in the Anode space. In this role the SCM will be responsible for securing battery raw materials and involved in product development all the way from R&D to production, while balancing cost, quality standards, global supply and demand, as well as geopolitical risks. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with a demonstrated track record of achievement.
What You’ll Do
Negotiate commercial agreements with supply chain partners such as GTC, PPA, license agreements, MTA, etc.
Manage supplier relationships to get the best deals for the company
Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers and partnerships opportunities
Lead large-scale supplier investment projects from idea to implementation
Lead make vs buy investigations and develop and execute long term sourcing strategies based on these analysis
Own RFI's, RFP's and RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented
Develop and utilize cost models to define should costs and negotiate price for sourcing and cost reduction
Analyze current market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities
Lead the vendor selection process with engineering teams, including raw material specification, vendor technology capabilities assessment, and alternative product options
Oversee demand planning and forecasting to ensure production lines remain at capacity
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees such as MS or PhD are preferred
5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Management Consulting
Ability to make decisions based on limited information
Prior experience with batteries with battery materials preferred
Dedication to the Tesla mission of accelerating the transition to renewable energy
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment
Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers, and other functional teams
Strong writing ability and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner
Willingness to travel

Expected Compensation p>$82,800 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
