The Head of Applied Identity Engineering leads the vision, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade identity solutions that are foundational to secure business operations. This role is accountable for shaping the technical direction of identity services, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and built for the future. This role brings deep expertise in identity systems and modern engineering practices, setting the strategy for how digital identities are created, managed, and secured across the enterprise. This role also ensures seamless integration of identity platforms with both cloud-native and on-premises environments. Depth & Scope
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required Defines and evolves the enterprise-wide approach to digital identity by setting standards for how identity services are designed, deployed, and maintained Leads the creation of secure and flexible identity solutions that support workforce, customer, and partner access across diverse technologies and environments Guides the development of services that handle authentication, authorization, lifecycle management, and entitlements at global scale Ensures identity platforms are optimized for high availability, performance, and elastic growth, supporting both legacy and cloud-based systems Provides direction on the adoption of modern identity frameworks, protocols, and tools—such as zero trust principles, password-less access, and decentralized identity models Partners with security, infrastructure, product, and business teams to align identity capabilities with organizational needs and digital transformation initiatives Builds and leads a high-performing team of engineers and technical leads. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence Ensures identity services meet internal and regulatory requirements while enabling operational agility and user experience Sets clear metrics to evaluate service health, technical debt, and progress toward modernization goals; presents results to executive leadership Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in is preferred 10+ years of experience in financial crimes management, risk management, or compliance within the financial services or related industry Proven experience in managing and leading teams in a regulatory and risk-focused environment In-depth knowledge of AML regulations, fraud detection, and prevention frameworks Strong analytical skills and experience working with data and technology-driven solutions for risk management. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills Certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) are a plus Who We Are
