Overview The Department of Urology at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist to join our expanding East Bay Cancer Care Program. The position will be based at the Stanford Medicine - Sutter Health Cancer Center, a joint venture in Oakland, CA. This center will function as a central hub for comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. The newly built Center features state-of-the-art outpatient clinic space, ambulatory surgery center, infusion treatment area, as well as diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology facilities. Inpatient surgical care will be provided primarily at the adjacent Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Establish a robust, sub-specialized clinical program in urologic oncology with a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating closely with medical and radiation oncologists in the Center.

Provide clinical care within the Center and participate in education of fellows and residents.

Work with a team of inpatient/outpatient advanced practice providers (APPs) and 24-hour hospitalist coverage; emergency room coverage is not mandatory except for established or postoperative patients.

Participate in clinical research programs and engage with the broader Stanford Urology Department and Stanford Cancer Center communities.

Coordinate with Stanford campus in Palo Alto through hybrid faculty meetings, grand rounds, tumor boards, and related research and teaching conferences.

Qualifications

Fellowship trained in urologic oncology with SUO certification.

Prior practice experience in an academic-affiliated program or private practice is valued.

Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to programmatic needs.

Appointment and Rank The position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line at Stanford University. Rank will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Compensation The expected base pay ranges are:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $372,000 – $399,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $426,000 – $462,000

This pay range reflects base pay and may not include all components of faculty compensation or incentive programs. The range is based on rank, years in rank, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market considerations.
