Responsibilities
Drive the development team's work to ensure features deliver high business impact. Create, maintain, and prioritize backlog items based on business value and project goals. Set the direction for complex, high-value projects and clearly communicate it to the team and stakeholders. Break down epics and features into actionable user stories that can be delivered within sprints. Guide sprint planning daily scrums, retrospectives, demos, and ensure smooth delivery. Represent the customer, negotiate priorities, and manage release decisions to meet business objectives. Qualifications
3+ years as a Technical Product Owner in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong knowledge of software engineering, cloud technologies, and modern architectures (e.g., cloud-native delivery). Experience with Java RESTful APIs, and AWS. Skilled in Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Rally. Proven ability to define and communicate clear product vision, and to prioritize features/backlog items that bring the highest business value. Experienced in leading technical teams and collaborating across stakeholders. Passionate about agile practices and values, serving as both a role model for your team and a champion for the broader agile community. This is a long-term contract-to-hire role, onsite 5 days a week in the downtown Chicago area.
