Start Date: November 3, 2025
End Date: February 23, 2026
Contract Duration: 16 weeks
Nursing Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:30 – 18:00)
Hours per Week: 40
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $2050
Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 pediatric oncology patients per shift
Scrub Color: Any solid color
Charting Systems: Epic, Cerner
Parking & Transportation: Shuttles provided; MBTA passes available for convenient public transportation in Boston
Pediatric Oncology Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology nursing experience
Active Massachusetts RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
APHON chemo/bio provider certification preferred
PALS certification preferred
Experience in teaching hospital settings required
EPIC charting experience preferred
Chemo administration experience preferred
Supervisory-level reference required
COVID-19 vaccine and current booster required
Travel RN Responsibilities
Provide infusion therapy including chemotherapy, blood products, IVIG, hydration, and antibiotics to pediatric oncology patients
Care for patients with general oncology, neuro-oncology, stem cell transplant, and bone marrow failure diagnoses
Perform central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, and port management
Monitor and administer chemotherapy via IV push, oral, and continuous infusion routes
Implement neutropenic and isolation precautions as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including anesthesiologists, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
Utilize Epic and Cerner charting systems for accurate clinical documentation
Participate in a busy pediatric clinic serving 75-90 patients daily, with 30-40 requiring infusion therapy
