  • Contract Duration: 16 weeks
  • Nursing Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:30 – 18:00)
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $2050
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 pediatric oncology patients per shift
  • Scrub Color: Any solid color
  • Charting Systems: Epic, Cerner
  • Parking & Transportation: Shuttles provided; MBTA passes available for convenient public transportation in Boston

Pediatric Oncology Nurse Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology nursing experience
  • Active Massachusetts RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
  • APHON chemo/bio provider certification preferred
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Experience in teaching hospital settings required
  • EPIC charting experience preferred
  • Chemo administration experience preferred
  • Supervisory-level reference required
  • COVID-19 vaccine and current booster required

Travel RN Responsibilities

  • Provide infusion therapy including chemotherapy, blood products, IVIG, hydration, and antibiotics to pediatric oncology patients
  • Care for patients with general oncology, neuro-oncology, stem cell transplant, and bone marrow failure diagnoses
  • Perform central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, and port management
  • Monitor and administer chemotherapy via IV push, oral, and continuous infusion routes
  • Implement neutropenic and isolation precautions as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including anesthesiologists, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
  • Utilize Epic and Cerner charting systems for accurate clinical documentation
  • Participate in a busy pediatric clinic serving 75-90 patients daily, with 30-40 requiring infusion therapy
