Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) – Chemo Infusion Jobs in Charlotte, NC (Locum Tenens)

RN Job Details – Chemo Infusion Nurse

  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770 - $1820 per week
  • Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN job)
  • Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: November 6, 2025
  • End Date: February 5, 2026
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Shift: 4x10-hour days (07:30 – 18:00)
  • Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 6 weeks (6-8 hour shifts, flexible to meet 40 hours/week)
  • Orientation: 40 hours
  • Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Average Daily Census: 75-90 patients
  • Treatment Bays: 80 (63 chairs, 17 beds/stretchers)
  • Location: Charlotte, NC 28204

Registered Nurse Qualifications – Chemo Infusion

  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in an infusion center or oncology nursing setting
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
  • BLS certification (AHA required)
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification
  • Proven experience with chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy administration
  • Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies (e.g., anaphylaxis)
  • Strong skills in care coordination, isolation, and neutropenic precautions
  • Patient and family education/support skills
  • Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
  • Must bring a stethoscope

RN Responsibilities – Oncology Infusion Nurse

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy via IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravesicular routes
  • Monitor and manage side effects of cancer treatments
  • Perform blood administration, therapeutic phlebotomy, and central/PICC line management
  • Conduct clinical assessments and manage patients with blood disorders
  • Educate patients and families on oncology treatment plans and symptom management
  • Participate in clinical research, including Phase 1 oncology trials
  • Utilize specialized equipment (Alaris infusion pump, CADD Solis, Massimo vital machine, Amma scalp cooling device)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV teams, pharmacy, interpretation services)
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and SBAR systems
  • Adhere to safety protocols for cytotoxic spills and hazardous medication handling
