COB Marketing & Communication within FIU College of Business is seeking a student to join their team of professionals. This position will work directly with the Office of Event Management to support the following services: Supports operational functions of the College of Business events unit Responsible for answering phone calls on a multi-line phone Supports with on campus and off campus event set-up, logistics, planning, and facilities needs. Supports day-to-day administration of the Event Management System (EMS), the reservation system for College of Business event venues Provides administrative support to the Office of Marketing and Communications including but not limited to: gathering data, organizational support, taking meeting minutes, working with social media team and more. Collaborates with team on strategic planning for events, happenings, and engagements Runs post-event inspections of the Special Events Center, to ensure reservation holders adhered to the reservation policies and procedures Works with vendors to retrieve quotes, invoices, and supporting documents Serve as event monitor greeting guests and running registration, as well as on site event support to ensure event success and execution Desired Qualifications: Customer service knowledge Basic level of Microsoft Office Suite Experience with Event Management System (EMS), Ability to take direction and work independently as needed Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
