– Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), Georgia State University The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) supports GSU's research community and its growing portfolio of sponsored projects. GSU faculty funded $185.71 million in research last year, with $100 million+ in ten consecutive years. OSP provides targeted service with department-based preaward and postaward officers to develop strong relationships with PIs and research administrators while gaining experience with a wide array of sponsors and award types. Responsibilities

This position joins an experienced team of preaward officers who assist GSU investigators in obtaining funding for their research. You will work with stakeholders across campus and with sponsors locally, nationally and internationally. The Senior Program Officer will collaborate with grants and contracts officers in various colleges/departments and with compliance offices (e.g., Export Control, Technology Transfer, Human Research Protection & Animal Welfare, Legal Affairs). Essential duties and responsibilities : Proposal Review and Submission:

Assist researchers and research administrators with technical guidance for proposal development and submission; review submissions for compliance with GSU requirements, sponsor requirements, and applicable federal rules; maintain expertise in sponsor submission systems; review budgets for accuracy and compliance. Review, Negotiation and Acceptance of Award Notices:

Review award documents for terms and compliance; coordinate internal approvals (COI, IRB, IACUC, Biosafety); verify budget accuracy and sponsor compliance; set up awards in Spectrum; prepare and disseminate award notifications. In addition to these duties:

Process just-in-time requests, no-cost extensions, non-competing continuations, progress reports, and contract modifications; communicate with sponsors as an authorized GSU official; handle carryforward and prior-approval requests; serve as a research administration resource for GSU personnel. Helping the GSU research community grow:

Share knowledge through trainings; pursue professional development; cross-train with OSP colleagues to cover portfolios as needed. Qualifications

Minimum Hiring Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field with five years of grants administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field, preferred. Additional Details
