Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Travel Position Location: Franklin, NC Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3×12s Nights Pay: $2,055.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Franklin, NC on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized nursing care for patients requiring closer monitoring and support than general medical-surgical units but who are stable enough to not need intensive care. The ideal candidate has strong PCU or step-down experience, thrives in high-acuity environments, and is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, evidence-based patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU setting. Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient conditions, responding promptly to changes as needed. Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the medical record. Adhere to infection control standards, safety protocols, and evidence-based PCU nursing practices. Qualifications Current and valid RN license in North Carolina (or compact eligibility). Minimum 1–2 years of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience in an acute care setting. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills in high-acuity situations. Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care. COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
