Job Title: Production Supervisor Location: Charlotte, NC Job Summary The Production Supervisor will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the production floor to ensure that safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met. This position provides hands-on supervision of machine operators, assemblers, and materials handlers, ensuring high standards of productivity and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and coach production staff (machine operators, assemblers, etc.) to meet performance standards. Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet daily and weekly production goals. Monitor throughput, identify bottlenecks, and adjust resources (manpower, equipment) to maintain efficiency. Oversight of quality control measures: ensure products meet specifications and address defects or non-conformities. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment is properly maintained and downtime is minimized. Enforce safety regulations and maintain a clean, compliant work environment. Track production metrics and KPIs (e.g., output, scrap, uptime, yield) and report results to management. Implement process improvements to reduce cost, increase productivity, and reduce waste. Assist with onboarding new employees, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred. Proven experience in a manufacturing production environment with supervisory or lead responsibilities. Strong understanding of machine operation, manufacturing processes, and quality control. Familiarity with production scheduling, workflow optimization, and process improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including possibly nights or weekends, depending on production needs. Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and planning skills. Data-driven mindset; comfortable working with metrics, monitoring performance. Ability to lead by example and foster teamwork. Proficiency with basic computer tools (MS Office, production tracking systems). Able to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Working Conditions
Primarily a production floor environment; often involves standing, walking, and interacting closely with production equipment. Some physically demanding tasks may require lifting or moving materials. PPE usage is required, and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
