Summary

The Supervisor - Operations (Philadelphia, PA) manages, plans, coordinates, and maintains efficiency standards for all production related activities associated with the VPC/PIO departments. This person will oversee the VPC/PIO processing staff and instruct team members to use equipment or perform technical procedures in a safe and proper manner. They will also oversee Payroll, attendance, and disciplinary actions. The Supervisor will be expected to report all issues to the department manager.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise operations and production related activities
    • Meet or exceed production goals
    • Resolves customer requests and respond with creative ideas to overcome challenges with flow
    • Supervise full-time and temporary employees, oversee and instruct on proper vehicle processing procedure
    • Ensure employees are accurately closing in and out
    • Create work assignments and monitor progress to improve work efficiency
    • Coordinates with other departments and customs to meets production goals
    • Provides feedback to team members regarding job performance and efficiency
    • Provide periodic updates of vehicle processing goals in order to meet customer deadlines
    • Performs administrative activities, including reviewing and providing status reports to next level management
    • Read and analyze charts, work order, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirement and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
    • Responds to unsafe conditions or hazardous waste
    • Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
    • Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
    • Conduct employee observations to ensure safety and productivity procedures are being followed
    • Supports and supervises Pier 98 operations as assigned
  • Production Reporting Complete end of shift production report for the VPC department
    • Audit vehicle handling processes and procedures in accordance with KMA, HMA, and Glovis policies and procedures and document errors found
    • Schedule work and overseeing performance management initiatives
    • Coordinate with Mobis on issue related vehicles and assist with repairs
    • Diagnosing issues with Cadex battery test equipment and is a liaison between OEM and employees
    • Notify PENN Auto when special region requests come through to expedite processing of vehicles
    • Prioritizes mechanical campaign and warranty
    • Set work schedule for vehicles to be completed daily
    • Tracks and records torque calibrations for tools related to VPC operations
    • Ensures mechanical RO completions are aligned with operations goals
    • Supervises Lucid unloading project and ensures compliance to customer standards
  • Train employees on new campaigns
    • Work with Tool Room supervisor to ensure adequate supply of tools are on hand, to perform campaign
    • Track show schedule for upcoming events
    • Monitor manufacturers release of vehicle lineups per show
    • Set due dates to meet manufacturers move-in date deadlines
    • Secure PO authorization for purchasing of tool inventory
    • Perform annual audit of facility owned by HMA/KMA
    • Complete monthly audit of customer owned - tablet equipment
    • Report discrepancies to customer
    • Pilot program for any new tools that may be in compliance with manufacturer move-in deadlines
Compensation Range

$83,000 - $94,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Skills & Qualifications
  • General knowledge of computer operations such as Microsoft Excel and Word Required
  • General knowledge of automobiles and repairs Required
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to communicate clear and concise instructions to employees Required
  • Familiarity with the operation of torque wrenches, air guages, and scales Preferred
  • Ability to use/operate two-way radio Preferred
  • Ability to drive both automatic and standard shift vehicles Preferred
Education & Experience
  • H.S Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • 5-8 Years of Direct Experience in Quality Control, Auto Port Processing Operations Required
  • 8-10 Years of Direct Experience in Quality Control, Auto Port Processing Preferred
  • Active state issued driver's license without restrictions Required
  • ASE certifications Preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
  • Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
  • Working at heights- access high storage areas of approx 10'
  • Operating heavy machinery - mininal fork life use required
  • Operating desk machines - PC, diagnostic equipment
  • Precise manual dexterity -ability to complete small vehicle repairs
