Summary Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee our parts department and ensure efficient operations that support both internal teams and external customers. The Parts Manager will be responsible for inventory management, purchasing, vendor relations, and the supervision of the parts staff. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all service and repair operations have the necessary parts available on time, while maintaining accurate records and controlling costs Responsibilities Primary Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer and service demands Implement effective inventory control practices to minimize shrinkage and excess stock Conduct regular cycle counts and quarterly inventory audits
Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors Ensure timely ordering, receiving, and stocking of parts Review purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules for accuracy Department Operations
Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, including order processing, storage, and distribution Develop and enforce department policies, workflows, and safety standards Monitor department performance metrics such as fill rates, order accuracy, and cost control
Supervise, train, and mentor parts department staff Delegate responsibilities and set clear performance goals Foster a collaborative and customer-focused team environment Customer & Service Support
Provide timely support to the service department by ensuring parts availability Handle escalated customer inquiries regarding parts orders and deliveries Strive to provide the highest level of service to both internal and external customers
Secondary Reports daily on the status of parts inventory and any possible shortages that might affect processing Provides guidance and support to department managers on an ongoing basis regarding parts availability Works with other department managers and supervisor to facilitate the efficient distribution of parts and supplies and the processing of units through the VPC All other Duties Assigned Skills Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office applications Knowledge of automotive parts, supply chain processes, and vendor networks preferred Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent preferred Track record in managing parts operations within the automotive or manufacturing industry preferred Education & Experience High School Diploma/GED Valid State Issued Driver's License Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 Carry up to 50 Sit Stand Walk Drive Push pull Squat Working and Environmental Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
