OBGYN Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens opportunities in Ottawa, Illinois. Seeking a compassionate and experienced OBGYN Registered Nurse for a locum tenens travel contract in Ottawa, IL. This role offers obstetrics nursing care in a supportive clinical environment and the opportunity to serve Starved Rock Country.

• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN Contract)
• Unit: OB (Obstetrics Nurse)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), every other weekend required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Bed Size: 14 OB beds, 11 nursery beds
• Orientation: 12 hours paid orientation/education
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,470 - $2,540 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent OB nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NRP certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Compliance with drug-free campus policy and drug screening
• Professionalism and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare setting

OBGYN RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive obstetrics care for patients with preeclampsia, manage Magnesium therapy, and support laboring patients
• Provide postpartum and newborn care, including delivery assistance as needed
• Utilize Obix central fetal monitoring and Epic (Stork) for clinical documentation
• Follow AWONN staffing guidelines for safe nurse-to-patient ratios
• Participate in paid orientation and ongoing unit-specific training
• Maintain professional appearance per nursing dress code (scrubs)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
• Adapt to potential floating requirements within the hospital
