Housekeeping - Lobby Attendant Job at 21c Museum Hotels in St. Louis

Overview

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

General Purpose: Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas to established standards of cleaning to assure guest satisfaction and the overall appearance of the property.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies for daily use, and keeps carts and storerooms clean and orderly.
• Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms and public areas to maintain a clean and presentable facility at all times.
• Uses ladders or stools occasionally to clean hard-to-reach areas.
• Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes pipes, mirrors, sinks and walls.
• Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities; restocks literature removed or soiled by guests to meet hotel standards.
• Washes hard floor areas by hand as needed to remove dirt and soiled areas.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures; cleans vents and ceiling corners.
• Remakes beds with fresh linens; checks bedspreads, blankets and pads for cleanliness and replaces as needed; checks under beds for soil.
• Checks and cleans closets; restocks guest room supplies such as hangers, blankets, and pillows.
• Vaccums rooms, public areas and hallways; operates vacuums up to 50lbs.; moves heavy furniture as needed.
• Inspects door and window locks and reports any security concerns to management.
• Inspects room equipment (TV, lights, docking stations, etc.) and reports deficiencies for repair.
• Protects and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Cleans patio/balcony areas and cleans doors and windows; assists other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
• Responsible, dependable, punctual.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions; good communication skills.
• Clean and professional appearance.
• Must pass a background check.

Physical Qualifications

• Must be able to maneuver a fully loaded maid cart (up to 50 lbs.) through hallways and into/out of closets during the shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, bend and kneel constantly; able to bend down and get on/off the floor many times per day.

Education/Formal Training

• High School Diploma/GED

Experience

• Experience a plus, but not required.
