We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Food & Beverage Retail Operations to lead and elevate our growing artisan bakery and retail food business. This is a unique opportunity for a professional with deep technical knowledge of bread and pastry baking—especially European-style techniques—to shape the product vision, set high quality standards, and drive operational excellence across our locations.

The ideal candidate will not only be operationally strong, but also bring a deep appreciation and mastery of European baking principles , with a particular focus on German traditions . A background in or exposure to formal baking education (e.g., apprenticeship programs, trade schools in Europe) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of all retail food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional product quality and customer experience.
  • Set and enforce baking and presentation standards across all locations.
  • Collaborate with culinary teams to develop new seasonal offerings, guided by traditional and innovative European baking practices.
  • Manage supply chain, vendor relationships, and ingredient sourcing for top-tier freshness and authenticity.
  • Train and mentor bakery and kitchen staff on proper baking techniques, quality control, and product consistency.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Analyze sales and operational metrics to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Serve as the key liaison between kitchen operations and senior leadership to align vision and execution.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of bread baking, laminated doughs, pastries, and European-style techniques is required.
  • Formal baking education (preferred from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or France) or a strong apprenticeship background.
  • Previous leadership experience in bakery retail or food service environments (multi-unit management a plus).
  • Fluent or conversational German is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Passion for quality, consistency, and artisan techniques.
