Position Summary
The Reach Forklift Operator is responsible for operating reach power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator must safely and efficiently operate the vehicle and meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Receiving/Put-Away: Input data accurately into WMS; efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate area; maintain an organized work area.
- Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment; ensure exact quantity and type are loaded and shipped; perform picking duties to meet customer service standards; prepare freight for operations accurately and timely as required.
- Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances; support 4C’s—Customer Satisfaction, Clean and Safe Work Environment, Complete Risk Prevention, Continuous Improvement and 5S initiatives.
- Delivery: Move product from staging/storage to production lines and/or staging docks; ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
- Inventory: Maintain records and reports to ensure tight inventory control and security; assist in physical inventories; ensure proper stock rotation through daily work.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment; comply with SOPs, policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards; perform work safely.
- Equipment Operation: Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product with a reach forklift or other power equipment; daily forklift inspection and issue reporting; operate equipment safely and efficiently; maintain active forklift certification; correct improperly stored or unstable pallets.
- Maintenance: Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties (Site Specific): Participate in inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, repacking; change fuel tanks on forklifts; repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays; perform other duties and work overtime as required.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
- Ability to operate a stand-up Reach Truck while placing/removing pallets from elevated storage.
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures (warmer and cooler months).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.
Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities, count inventory, and perform duties related to handling, storing, and distributing products.
Other Skills: Strong attention to detail; ability to work with minimal supervision; adaptability to change in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years in warehouse/logistics/distribution.
- 1–2 years forklift experience; stand-up reach lift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
- Ability to operate Electric Pallet Jack and Dock Loader (Pacer) when needed.
Physical Demands
Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, Sitting; Frequently: Bending; Constantly: Walking and Standing. Ability to Lift/Carry 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work Environment
Typically low to moderate noise; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; no extreme conditions noted.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, including base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. The pay for this role ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, with actual pay determined by experience, skills, and qualifications.
