Position summary

The Reach Forklift Operator is responsible for operating reach power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, meeting company safety, security, and productivity standards. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, quality, and teamwork, and to comply with all corporate and site policies.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving/Put-Away: Input data accurately into WMS; efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate area; maintain an organized work area.
  • Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment; ensure correct quantity and type; perform picking efficiently to meet customer service standards; prepare freight in a timely manner as required.
  • Quality: Ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free; report variances; support 4C\’s (Customer Satisfaction, Clean and Safe Work Environment, Complete Risk Prevention, Continuous Improvement and 5S).
  • Delivery: Move product from staging/storage to production lines or docks; ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
  • Inventory: Keep records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security; assist in physical inventories; ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe work environment; comply with SOPs, policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards; perform work safely.
  • Equipment Operation: Load/unload/move/stack/stage product using reach forklift or other equipment; daily inspection and reporting of forklift issues; maintain active forklift certification; correct unsafe pallet storage; assist with pallet maintenance as needed.
  • Maintenance: Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Other site-specific duties: participate in inventories; labeling, sorting, packing, repacking; change fuel tanks; repair pallets, trailers, and bays; other duties as assigned; overtime as required.

Minimum qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; 6 months experience in logistics/distribution; ability to operate stand-up Reach Truck; able to work in warehouse temperatures.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift training program completion.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities

  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.
  • Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level for quantities and inventory counts.
  • Other: Attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • 1-2 years in warehouse/logistics/distribution; forklift and stand-up reach lift experience; MHE certification; ability to operate Electric Pallet Jack and Dock Loader (Pacer).

Physical demands

Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, Sitting; Frequently: Bending; Constantly: Walking and Standing; Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work environment

Noise level is usually low to moderate. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles is rare. No unusual environmental conditions beyond standard warehouse duties.

Compensation: We provide market-competitive compensation packages, including base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. Pay for this role ranges from $20 to $24 hourly, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
