About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Valid State License Required (Pending Accepted) Certifications: ACLS, BLS Minimum Required; NIHSS Preferred Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience - Experience in Patient Ratios of 5 - Charting System Experience in Cerner Preferred Description: Position in Step Down specialty. Start date is as soon as possible. Shift consists of nights (3x12 hour shifts). Weekend requirement is every other weekend. No call requirement is present. May need to float to other step down or medical units as needed. Holiday requirement is 1 holiday per contract. Guaranteed hours are 36 per week. Certifications required include ACLS and BLS. NIHSS certification is preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted. Travelers must reside at least 50 miles away. Pending license is accepted. Charting system utilized is Cerner. Scrub color required is royal blue. Unit details include: - Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics - Daily census of approximately 8 patients - Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy. - Common patient diagnoses include infectious diseases, pulmonary issues with acute ventilatory or hypoxic respiratory failure, and acute withdrawals requiring frequent medications. - Special procedures and equipment include negative pressure systems. Staffing and scheduling details: - Patient ratios during the day and night shifts are 5:1. - Pre-approved time off is 1 day allowed. - Maximum amount of RTO is 10 days. - Travelers must be willing to work one of the three holidays if RTO is during the holiday period. - Travelers must complete up to 8 hours of self-reported modules prior to start. Important note: All travelers must understand that any conduct issues, including unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs, are taken very seriously and may result in immediate contract termination.
