We are seeking a
Senior Entry Writer
to join our U.S. Customs Brokerage team. The Senior Entry Writer will handle complex entries, mentor junior staff, and act as a subject matter expert for customs compliance. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accuracy in entry filings, managing PGA requirements, and maintaining strong communication with clients, carriers, and CBP. A Customs Broker License is
not required
for this role. About the Role
The Senior Entry Writer will be responsible for: Preparing and transmitting Customs entries (3461, 7501, 7512) in
CargoWise
through ABI. Performing accurate HTSUS classification for a wide range of commodities. Filing ISF for ocean shipments within regulatory timelines. Managing bonded shipments (CF7512 IT/IE/TE) and FTZ documentation. Coordinating with CBP and Participating Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC) to ensure compliance. Reviewing import documentation (B/L, AWB, invoices, COO, packing lists) for completeness and accuracy. Communicating with clients regarding clearance status, holds, and documentation requirements. Mentoring and supporting entry writers/junior staff in best practices for customs entry. Assisting management in audits, reporting, and maintaining compliance standards. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in U.S. customs entry writing (air and ocean imports). Proficiency with
CargoWise
(required). Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, ABI processing, HTS classification, ISF, and PGA requirements. Experience handling bonded shipments and FTZ documentation. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, English) a plus. Customs Broker License
