Overview
Reporting directly to the VP of Procurement, this role will be charged with leading the Direct Material category sourcing team. Primary responsibility includes leading a team of category managers and our global sourcing team to develop strategies which will drive incremental value for the enterprise by leveraging direct material spend. The position is also responsible for the optimization of direct spend processes and establishes governance and compliance for direct procurement activities. Location and Office Information
Location: Milwaukee, WI. In-office schedule is Tuesday through Thursday currently; transitioning to Monday through Thursday with Friday optional work-from-home starting September 1, 2025. Dress code: Business Casual. Responsibilities
Develop strategic sourcing / purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business Integrate and align strategic sourcing activities with operations, finance, and program management teams Maintain a high level of professionalism while supporting the organization Demonstrate an understanding of business needs and requirements Develop a culture of service and support for Enerpac stakeholders as a leader and mentor Provide guidance and support to the team to drive success and development Model and drive ownership and execution in line with company values Support the team with personal development, coaching and training Set objectives and manage team performance Lead category spend analysis and supplier segmentation for direct materials Develop and implement direct procurement policies and processes Establish category and supplier strategies to drive value for the enterprise Support and lead RFx processes and category management as needed Develop a deep understanding of the global supplier base Ensure compliance with risk, legal, and procurement requirements Collaborate with leadership to set value targets and manage stakeholder relationships Drive cross-functional projects and training for direct material sourcing activities Analyze current spend to identify opportunities to improve service and reduce costs Develop and manage supplier relationships and alliances for preferred negotiations Identify opportunities to optimize procurement processes from sourcing to payment (S2P) and implement automation and standardization Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree At least 10 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment At least 5 years of direct team leadership Ability to travel up to 25% Experience with Oracle-based ERP systems Experience managing a multi-site, multi-cultural international team and supplier base, including in low-cost regions Financial literacy, including P&L and cash-flow modeling, scenario building, and comparative analysis Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills Strategic thinking with ability to synthesize data and present recommendations Ability to partner with business leaders and communicate effectively Ability to develop metrics that drive enterprise value Experience tracking commodities, currency, and market trends from a forecasting perspective Demonstrated resilience and cross-functional collaboration EEO Statement
