Sr Director, Global EHS & Quality
at Interface Interface is a global flooring solutions company and sustainability leader focused on carbon reductions and a restorative business model. The Senior Director, Global EHS & Quality will transform the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality functions from a regional structure to a globally aligned, standardized organization, partnering with cross‑functional teams to embed a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and quality excellence across all manufacturing and supply chain operations worldwide. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Transformation: Develop and execute a global strategy to harmonize EHS and Quality programs, policies, and standards across all regions; collaborate with HR to align policies impacting employee responsibilities and behavior. Drive cultural change by embedding EHS and Quality best practices into daily operations, fostering a proactive, prevention-based approach. Establish and lead a globally aligned EHS and Quality leadership team to drive consistency and accountability. Partner with executive leadership to align EHS and Quality initiatives with overall business objectives. EHS Program Development & Implementation
Design and implement a standardized global EHS management system that meets or exceeds regulatory and industry standards. Lead efforts with the global sustainability team to minimize environmental impact, drive sustainability initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance. Develop and manage a global incident management and reporting system to improve risk identification, mitigation, and response; establish global reporting requirements and cadence. Oversee training programs to enhance EHS competency at all levels; collaborate with Learning & Development to deploy employee training. Drive a culture of compliance without compromise and world‑class EHS performance at global sites. Quality Management & Continuous Improvement
Develop and implement a global Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Establish KPIs to measure and report on quality performance and drive continuous improvement. Lead global initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve customer satisfaction. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to ensure quality is integrated from design to delivery. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all facilities comply with local, national, and international EHS and Quality regulations. Implement a robust global audit and assessment process to identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and track improvements. Stay informed on regulatory changes and emerging trends to proactively adjust policies and procedures; partner with stakeholders to activate changes. Team Leadership & Development
Build and mentor a high‑performing global EHS and Quality team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Champion employee engagement initiatives to drive ownership of EHS and Quality across the organization. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in EHS and Quality within global manufacturing, preferably in the commercial flooring sector. Proven experience implementing global EHS and Quality management systems and driving standardization across multiple regions. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards. Expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean). Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and drive change in a complex, multinational environment. Location: Atlanta, GA (headquarters). Travel at least 50% of the time (domestic and international). Hybrid working environment.
