Overview
CNC Applications Engineer, Phillips Hybrid. This role is based out of Hanover, MD, with 60%–80% travel across the US and potential international travel. Base pay range: $90,000.00–$110,000.00 per year. Phillips Corporation is a global supplier of manufacturing technology and services, focused on machine tools (metalworking). We are seeking a professional to join the Hybrid team to strengthen our position as a leading provider of additive and subtractive manufacturing solutions. The successful candidate will redefine manufacturing possibilities by partnering with customers to solve complex challenges using Hybrid solutions. They will develop additive and subtractive strategies on Phillips Hybrid platforms and create, simulate, and validate CNC and DED toolpaths to ensure seamless design-to-production integration. They will drive customer success through hands-on training, on-site and remote demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and test projects to showcase capabilities and accelerate adoption. Due to customer requirements, candidates must be United States citizens and able to pass a comprehensive background check. Develop additive and subtractive strategies on Phillips Hybrid platforms; create, simulate, and validate advanced CNC and DED toolpaths for seamless design-to-production integration. Deliver hands-on training to customers and internal teams; conduct on-site and remote demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and test projects to showcase capabilities and accelerate adoption. Create repeatable, scalable process templates for common applications; support customer success, onboarding, and adoption. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Service, Engineering, and Marketing to support customer acquisition, onboarding, and retention; craft detailed application reports, case studies, and technical content. Evaluate the impact of process variables (e.g., laser power, wire feed speed, travel rate) on metallurgical properties and dimensional accuracy; translate findings into practical guides and training materials. Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., HyperMill, Mastercam, SolidWorks, Siemens NX). Proficiency running CNC machines (3-, 4-, and 5-axis); Haas controls strongly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine tool operations and strategies. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills. Willingness to be challenged while learning new technologies and delivering excellent customer service. Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.). Basic programming or scripting knowledge is a plus (Python, VBA, etc.). Benefits
