Immediate need for a Technical Financial Reporting Manager. To be responsible for performing technical accounting research and external reporting compliance. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting and technical accounting aspects related to the company's debt issuance activities. The manager ensures that all transactions are accounted for and reported accurately in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and SEC regulations, playing a crucial role in maintaining investor confidence and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for complex debt-related accounting issues, including debt issuance, refinancing, modifications, extinguishments, embedded derivatives, and related financial instruments.
Research and interpret US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC pronouncements to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for debt transactions.
Prepare detailed accounting memos documenting the company’s positions on complex debt transactions, ensuring clear analysis and rationale.
Manage the preparation and review of debt-related disclosures in SEC filings (e.g., Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K) and other financial statements.
Ensure compliance with all SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and Regulation S-K.
Oversee the XBRL tagging process for SEC filings related to debt disclosures.
Maintain the financial reporting calendar for debt-related activities and disclosures.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures specifically related to debt financing.
Ensure effective internal controls (SOX compliance) are in place and adhered to for debt-related financial reporting processes.
Work closely with treasury, legal, tax, and investor relations teams to understand debt transaction structures and implications.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on accounting for debt instruments.
Serve as a key contact for external auditors regarding debt-related accounting and reporting matters.
Stay abreast of new accounting standards (FASB, IASB) and SEC regulations impacting debt and financial instruments.
Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes and efficiency related to debt transactions.
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting and a CPA are required for consideration
Public Accounting experience from a national CPA firm with a deep understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations related to debt and complex financial instruments/or at a publicly traded company is highly valued.
5 or more years of experience in financial reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting, with a focus on debt and capital markets.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex transactions, interpret financial data, and provide actionable insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex accounting issues clearly to various stakeholders.
Strong skills in accounting software and advanced Excel.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reports and disclosures.
