Keep neat, detailed records, experimental protocols, and inventory of experiments. Analyze and present data to team. Manage and maintain murine models of disease and conduct animal experiments with transplantable mouse models of MPN and leukemia. Follow up murine models with collection of mouse tissues, prepare samples for analysis and storage. Analyze samples by flow cytometry, cell isolation, colony assay, qRT-PCR, immunoblotting and other molecular biology techniques. Production of lentiviral and retroviral particles and transduction with these viruses in mouse and human cells. Participate in general lab communication, equipment maintenance, supplies, inventory, and organization. As a specialist and technical expert responsible for conduct and support of experiments related to research projects. Development and the implementation of the research plan and development of research goals. Make formal presentations of research findings both internally and sometimes externally. Required Qualifications
Research Specialist Senior:
PhD or Master's Degree is required. 5-6 years of experience in a related field. Research Specialist Intermediate:
Bachelor's Degree is required. 4-5 years of experience in a related field. Candidate must have experience in mouse handling and good working knowledge of cell culture techniques and molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning and immunoblotting. Proficiency with computers specifically MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and GraphPad Prism are also preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems. Desired Qualifications
Candidates with Masters degree or higher in biological sciences with >2 years of demonstrated research experience through publications are encouraged to apply. Additional experience in CRISPR/Cas9 and viral transduction, small molecule IC50 determination, and colony assays of hematopoietic cells is also a plus. U-M EEO Statement
