This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Duties include providing general Gastroenterology/Hepatology consultation and Endoscopy services, close supervision and education of Gastroenterology fellows and medical residents, collaboration with physician extenders and nursing care providers, and being a resource for Primary Care providers. The Staff Gastroenterologist will provide in-patient gastrointestinal consultation services, outpatient care, and perform clinical procedures within the Gastroenterology Section. The candidate must comply with the Medical Staff bylaws, complete all medical records timely through CPRS, and maintain Gastroenterology board certification and training. Requirements : U.S. Citizenship, degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree, current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery, residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Requirements : Board Certified / Board Eligible, physical requirements in accordance with VA Directive and Handbook 5019. Work Schedule : Weekdays 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or as per needs of the service.
