Physician - Staff Cardiologist

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a qualified Physician - Staff Cardiologist to provide general Cardiology services in keeping with good clinical practice and standards of the Cardiology Section and Medicine Service at the Syracuse Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and SUNY Upstate Medical University.
The successful candidate will provide outpatient care and perform clinical procedures as necessary within the Cardiology Section. Duties include:
Providing general Cardiology services in keeping with good clinical practice and standards of the Cardiology Section and Medicine Service.
Close supervision, education, and coordination of the Cardiology fellows, medical residents, and medical students when in rotation on your service.
Close collaboration with our University Affiliate to promote our missions of education, research, and development of our fellows in training to use evidenced-based medical care.
Collaboration with the physician extenders and nursing care providers in the Cardiology Section.
Being a resource for Primary Care providers to assist in the timely care of patients and appropriate referral to Cardiology.
Providing expertise in multispecialty and patient care-related discussions.
Participating in the development or on-going research, quality improvement, and teaching as it relates to your professional interests.
Providing in-patient and outpatient Cardiology consultation services and any necessary education required to all provider staff as needed.
Functioning as an active member of the Cardiology Department of the Syracuse Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Obtaining and maintaining Cardiology board certification and training.

Requirements:
United States Citizenship.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
