Job Summary
The VA North Texas Health Care System is seeking to fill Physician (Psychiatrist) positions at various locations. The Education Debt Reduction Program is authorized, and recruitment or relocation incentives may be available for highly qualified individuals. Responsibilities
The core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care to patients on the outpatient mental health team. The incumbent must be skilled in general outpatient psychiatry, including diagnostic evaluations, pharmacotherapy, and psychotherapy. Provide comprehensive psychiatric medical care to patients on the outpatient mental health team. Be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population. May be assigned to act as collaborating physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Will be involved in supervising and teaching health care professional trainees such as medical students, psychiatry residents, and other trainees. Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1630, with light on-call responsibilities. Options may be available for alternative tours. Recruitment Incentive

The position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program, a student loan payment reimbursement program. Qualifications
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. License: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. English Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience
ABPN or AOBNP board certified or eligible or anticipated eligibility Buprenorphine treatment experience Experience delivering virtual care and managing related technology Physical Requirements
Moderate lifting, 15-44 pounds; Moderate carrying, 15-44 pounds; Reaching above shoulder; Use of fingers; Both hands required; Walking (8 hours); Both legs required; Near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; Both eyes required; Hearing (aid may be permitted); Specific hearing requirements; Mental and emotional stability.
