About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead the financial and accounting operations of its flagship Non-Traded BDC. The CAO will be a key member of the leadership team, with a primary focus on overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for the fund, ensuring compliance with the 1940 Act, and maintaining the integrity of financial operations. This role involves close collaboration with senior management, fund administrators, auditors, and legal and compliance teams to guarantee accurate and timely reporting of financial information. The successful candidate will also be responsible for continuous assessment of industry best practices and will play a critical role in risk management and investor reporting. Applicants for the CAO position at the company must be Certified Public Accountants (CPA) with a minimum of 10-15 years' relevant accounting experience. A background in public, private, or Big 4 Advisory or National Office experience is preferred. The role requires in-depth knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, particularly in the preparation of regulatory filings specific to BDCs or other regulated entities, and a strong understanding of GAAP. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and will be adept at working with internal and external teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. Responsibilities also include overseeing the external audit process, monitoring and enhancing internal controls, and ensuring the accurate valuation of the fund's portfolio.
