The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles SFB, CA is searching for a Cybersecurity Chief, SSC/S6 (NH-2210-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent). Description: The Space Systems Command (SSC) S6 is a Command-level organization responsible for and influences the evolution of technology, information, information technology, cyber, security, and cyber security across the command.
The Cybersecurity Division Chief will lead a combined (civilian, contractor, FFRDC, military) team responsible for mitigating cyber threats to SSC’s $46B space portfolio and space warfighting capabilities by:
- managing the Authority to Operation/RMF process for acquisition networks and space mission systems under development
- working with Space Operators, Cyber Warfare, and SSC Program Offices to implement Zero Trust solutions for operational mission systems
- reducing risk to program’s crypto requirements
- providing guidance and solutions for Program Protection, Supply Chain Risk Management, and Vulnerability Management to secure our Nation’s space capabilities
Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate will have strong understanding of Cybersecurity, DoD Risk Management Framework, Vulnerability Management, NSA-Certified Cryptology, Program Protection, Supply Chain Risk Management, Zero Trust Architectures, and cloud-based IT infrastructure solutions.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Position will close in 5 business days or 75 applications (whichever comes first)
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI clearance
- Eligible for situational telework only
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work
This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will attain appropriate IAM III DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position held, within six months of filling position IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
