Account Manager/ Technical Manager

TSMC is seeking an Account Manager/Technical Manager based in San Jose, CA to work with one of TSMC’s Top 5 strategic global accounts. You will be a primary interface between the customer’s procurement and technical organizations, orchestrating executive alignment, technology adoption, and business outcomes. The role requires exceptional commercial acumen, deep fluency in semiconductor processes and fab operations, and the ability to operate independently at the customer site while keeping tight alignment with TSMC headquarters. You will report to the Director of Account Management and partner closely with senior executives to expand market share, strengthen the partnership, and deliver measurable value across cost, quality, and time-to-market. Key Responsibilities Build and sustain C‑level relationships at the customer, ensuring frequent executive‑level alignment with TSMC. Serve as a trusted advisor on Performance, Power, Area (PPA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and ongoing cost‑reduction initiatives. Anticipate and address customer challenges, balancing TSMC’s objectives with the customer’s product and operational priorities. Business Program Leadership Drive the initiation, execution, and expansion of joint business programs, including new technology adoption and roadmap alignment. Lead contract negotiations and pricing strategy across silicon wafers, testing, assembly, and advanced packaging to optimize growth and profitability. Conduct competitive analysis to counter pressures from competitors (front‑end performance, and back‑end cost). Internal & Cross‑Functional Collaboration Translate customer product requirements into actionable programs with R&D, Planning, Field Technology Services (FTS), Business Development, Operations, Legal, and Finance. Manage weekly allocation and fulfillment cycles with procurement, design, and business units, ensuring consistent demand creation and supply alignment. Provide structured business analysis and briefings for Account Directors, VPs, and senior TSMC executives. Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications MS in Engineering related field 9+ years of combined experience in Sales, Business Development, Marketing, or Foundry Management within the semiconductor industry. Demonstrated success managing Tier‑1 foundry or IDM accounts representing significant revenue or market share. Proven ability to manage executive‑level relationships and navigate high‑pressure customer negotiations. Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes, fab operations, and supply chain dynamics. Excellent executive communication, negotiation, and conflict‑management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze and interpret financial statements. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in Mandarin and English. MBA in Accounting, Economics, or Finance. Experience in IC design, product engineering, process technology, or advanced packaging. Familiarity with EDA ecosystem firms (Cadence, Synopsys, Ansys). Strong project management with ability to synthesize complex technical and business insights into clear recommendations. High EQ, independence, and resilience in capacity‑constrained, customer‑facing environments. Travel Expectations Monthly travel (~10%) to customer sites within USA. Annual travel to TSMC headquarters in Taiwan. Why TSMC?
