Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their team in Monmouth County, NJ. This position is responsible for processing, collecting, and recording payments from customers in alignment with company policy and standard accounting practices. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with internal departments and customers to ensure timely and accurate receivables management. Base pay range

Process, record, and reconcile incoming payments in accordance with established procedures. Follow up on overdue accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and escalate unresolved or delinquent accounts to collections when necessary. Collaborate with internal teams—including Sales, Customer Service, and Delivery—to resolve invoicing discrepancies and expedite payment processing. Generate and analyze financial reports and account statements to monitor outstanding balances and identify trends or issues. Communicate with customers regarding returns, credits, rebates, billing adjustments, and other receivables matters to ensure account accuracy. Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining positive relationships. Maintain accurate records of all transactions, communication, and account statuses in the system. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or similar accounting role. Strong understanding of accounting principles and collections practices. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, etc.).
