As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with 18 locations across Pinellas County, we provide exceptional care to more than 75,000 patients annually—and behind that care is a lean, focused finance team guiding sustainable growth, operational excellence, and mission-aligned strategy. We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance to help drive that strategy forward. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, brings deep financial acumen, and leads with both rigor and heart. Why this role matters Reporting directly to the CFO, the AVP of Finance plays a critical role in Evara’s long-term growth, compliance, and accountability. You will lead core functions across accounting, budgeting, grants, financial reporting, and risk management—ensuring our financial health supports our broader mission: healthcare without barriers. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their financial expertise not just to track numbers, but to drive outcomes, empower teams, and ensure fiscal integrity across a complex, multi-entity, community-centered healthcare organization. What you’ll do Set the strategic direction

of the finance department in collaboration with the CFO and senior leadership Oversee and mentor

leaders in accounting, payroll, grants, and reporting across all Evara subsidiaries Lead annual budgeting and forecasting , offering data-driven guidance to ensure alignment with organizational priorities Ensure full compliance

with HRSA, UDS, grant, audit, and FQHC regulations Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting systems

to track financial performance and trends Modernize financial systems

and identify process improvements across platforms, tools, and reporting workflows Serve as a financial partner

to program leaders and cross-functional teams—translating complex data into actionable insight Promote a culture of fiscal responsibility , internal control, and service excellence within the finance department Bring 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior/executive role Hold a CPA (required); MBA, MHA, or other advanced degree preferred Have experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, or FQHC environment (strongly preferred) Have led finance teams in multi-entity, grant-funded organizations with diverse funding streams Excel at collaborating cross-functionally, managing audits, and advising senior leadership Balance strategic thinking with operational execution—leading by example and cultivating excellence What we offer We believe great work starts with great support.
