Overview
Actuarial Consultant, Life Insurance Modeling - REMOTE role with Nationwide. This position is part of the Life Modeling Team in the Finance department, focusing on developing and maintaining models for Universal Life (UL/IUL) and Traditional Life products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance modeling processes and support strategic modeling initiatives. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain actuarial models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Validate and test model changes to ensure correctness and reliability. Lead modeling initiatives that support evolving business needs. Identify and implement enhancements to modeling processes and tools. Construct, maintain, and conduct actuarial, projection & valuation models; perform financial reporting and analysis. Lead pricing and implementation of products; analyze risks for lines of business. Establish reserves and other valuation items under statutory, GAAP, and tax accounting regimes; perform reinsurance analysis and pricing. Support and/or develop effective communication strategies and recommendations to leadership; lead peer reviews to drive quality and collaboration. Maintain relationships with business customers and help onboard/train new associates on standard processes. May participate in the NF Actuarial Rotation Program (two to three one-year rotations) with program details provided on start date. Must-Have Skills
Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics. ASA designation and active enrollment in the Actuarial Development Program. 3–5 years of actuarial experience, with a focus on Life or similar financial product modeling. Proficiency in actuarial software and Microsoft Office products (including VBA). Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Life Insurance products. Advanced knowledge of Moody’s AXIS and Milliman Integrate or MG-ALFA. Programming experience in Python; familiarity with SQL, Tableau, or Power BI. Strong modeling skills across Traditional Life, Term, Whole Life, and Universal Life models. Job Details

License/Certification: ASA; actively enrolled in the Actuarial Development Program; pursuing FSA. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficient in actuarial software and MS Office; knowledge of VBA, Tableau; strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Salary ranges: national range $95,000.00–$197,000.00; expected starting range $106,000.00–$158,000.00. Salary is determined by skills, experience, and market factors. Other Details
