Actuarial Consultant, Life Insurance Modeling - REMOTE
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Consultant to join our Life Modeling Team. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining models for Universal Life (UL/IUL) and Traditional Life products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance modeling processes and support strategic modeling initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain actuarial models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Validate and test model changes to ensure correctness and reliability. Lead modeling initiatives that support evolving business needs. Identify and implement enhancements to modeling processes and tools. Must-Have Skills: Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics. ASA designation and active enrollment in the Actuarial Development Program. 3-5 years of actuarial experience, with a focus on Life or similar financial product modeling. Proficiency in actuarial software and Microsoft Office products. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Life Insurance products. Advanced knowledge of Moody’s AXIS and Milliman Integrate or MG-ALFA. Programming experience in Python and familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Power BI. Strong modeling skills, with a focus on Traditional Life, Term, Whole Life, and Universal Life models. This position may have the opportunity to be a part of the NF Actuarial Rotation Program, which will give you the potential opportunity to work on various actuarial, analytics, and risk management teams to learn and develop across different actuarial functions. Key Responsibilities: Compiles, categorizes, and analyzes data. Performs construction of testing tools and analysis of product calculations. Constructs, maintains, and conducts Actuarial, Projection & Valuation Models. Performs financial reporting and analysis. Leads pricing and implementation of products. Analyzes risks for lines of business. Establishes reserves and other valuation items under multiple accounting regimes (statutory, GAAP, and tax) for products. Performs reinsurance analysis and pricing. Supports and may develop effective communication strategies and recommendations to leadership. Leads peer reviews to increase collaboration, ensure quality work, and drive innovation. Maintains relationship with business customers as well as builds new relationships.
