Director of Finance

is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the fiscal management of Chapman Cultural Center, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. About Chapman Cultural Center Chapman Cultural Center (CCC) provides state-of-the-art facilities for many of Spartanburg’s arts and cultural offerings. In addition to a performing arts center campus, CCC also manages Mayfair Art Studios, which provides studio space for local artists, as well as exhibition and performance space, in the historic Arcadia Mill Village. Our educational outreach programs serve more than 65,000 public and private school students throughout Spartanburg County, with residencies by professional artists in the disciplines of music, dance, visual arts, literature, media, theatre, and crafts. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Director of Finance is charged with managing and communicating all financial matters with the leadership team and board of directors to enhance strategic decision-making and strengthen the organization’s internal capacity and long-term fiscal stability in alignment with CCC’s mission and goals. The Director of Finance plays a key role in a broad range of operations and initiatives, including: Developing financial models to regularly monitor the financial performance of CCC. Providing strategic guidance regarding the related policies, processes, and systems necessary to manage the organization’s financial and administrative operations. Analyzing and report on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly financial condition and results as needed or requested. Supporting the leadership team by preparing appropriate financial materials for presentation and discussion at board meetings. Providing financial reporting for the purposes of grant applications and other development activities; prepare project budgets and financial reports for funders. Overseeing an annual audit with an independent auditor. Serving as staff liaison for the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees. Ensuring all compliance procedures are implemented based on up-to-date regulations and best practices for nonprofits; incorporate input on controls from the Finance Committee. Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Managing and reconciling all bank accounts and financial transactions. Interfacing with outside firms, banks, business insurance agents, and vendors on CCC’s behalf. Professional Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business and/or equivalent course work, or professional experience. A minimum of ten years of nonprofit accounting and/or general business experience. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and standard accounting software. Familiarity with generating reports from database management systems. Additional Qualifications
