Property Accounting Manager
Role and Responsibilities
The Property Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting of all fixed assets and leases across the organization, including capital project tracking, asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, lease accounting, and compliance with internal policies and U.S. GAAP. The manager will lead a 2+ member team that will support operational and financial decision-making by ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of PP&E and lease data. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background and experience in overseeing a large-scale property and lease portfolio. Compensation and Location:
Targeted compensation range: $110,000/yr to $125,000/yr and eligible for annual bonus and LTI. This is an in-office role 4 days per week at the Support Center Office near I-25 and Colorado Blvd. Address: 1720 S Bellaire St. Suite Skybox, Denver, Colorado 80222.
Responsibilities
Oversee the accounting lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairments, and disposals Manage the tracking and reporting of capital expenditures (CapEx), including project budgets, spend analysis, and variance reporting Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Procurement teams to monitor in-progress capital projects and validate asset readiness Manage the end-to-end lease accounting process in accordance with ASC 842, including the identification, classification, and measurement of leases Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies related to fixed asset and lease accounting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual PP&E and lease-related journal entries and account reconciliations Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and explanations for PP&E activity Develop and enhance policies and procedures related to fixed asset management Provide insights and reporting to Finance and Operations leadership on capital project performance and asset utilization Assist in the implementation or optimization of ERP and fixed asset management systems Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on all PP&E and lease accounting matters Perform other duties as necessary
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles, including ASC 842 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment Aptitude to bring our values to life by being guest obsessed, supporting others, taking ownership and having fun Preferred: Experience with reporting or supporting company filings Experience with multi-unit restaurants and/or retail organizations Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) Familiarity with capital project accounting and asset tagging systems Familiarity with lease accounting systems Experience with ERP implementations or system upgrades
Education, Training & Experience
Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years focused on PP&E and/or lease accounting CPA certification strongly preferred
