This is a crucial role for our growing business, with the potential for the right candidate to be promoted to a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction-based accounting and a proven ability to manage a team and maintain accurate financials. About the Role This role involves managing the finance and accounting department while leading a team to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis. Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting department. Lead and supervise the entire finance team of four, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and payroll. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes. Dissect financial data and books to provide insights for better decision-making. Contribute to cash flow forecasting and other financial analysis as needed. Implement and improve processes to increase efficiency and manage current revenue levels. Collaborate with the executive team and contribute to strategic financial discussions. Qualifications
Proven experience in construction-specific accounting, including accrual method accounting, work in progress (WIP), and billing. Experience with Spectrum (Trimble) accounting software is highly desirable. Candidates without this specific experience must be proficient in learning new software quickly. Strong leadership skills and experience managing a finance or accounting team. Knowledge of project financials and contract negotiations is a plus. A forward-looking mindset with some experience in financial forecasting is a benefit, as this role has the potential to grow into a CFO position. Required Skills
