Overview
ELECTRICITY: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) – San Diego Community College District. This is a part-time/temporary adjunct pool for our district-wide campuses (City, Mesa, Miramar) and Continuing Education campuses, posted on a continuous basis for possible assignments in fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Applications are kept for a limited period and may be contacted directly by hiring departments if qualifications match. Posting Details: Open Until Filled. Location: District Wide. General Notes: Applicants should reside within commuting distance to San Diego. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus classes. Responsibilities
Primary duties related to curriculum and teaching; assignment divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain professional conduct and ethics, current knowledge in subject matter areas, and fulfill responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes and maintain accurate records. Provide quality instruction and foster an environment that emphasizes teaching, learning, and open discussion of ideas and issues. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions. Any Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR Any Associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR The equivalent. AND, demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desirable Qualifications
Equivalency: If you do not possess the exact degrees, complete a Request for Equivalency Form and attach it during the application process. Foreign Degree: coursework evaluated by a professional association member of NACES or AICE. A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with the online application. Licenses/Certificates/Credentials: California Community College Instructor Credential in Electricity (valid for life) if possessed. Commitment to Diversity
