Job Description

The Banking Associate is a banking professional who plays a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on TD’s services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals.

Depth & Scope

Performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. Delivers end-to-end advisory support: building trust with educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and proactive insights and recommendations. Uses TD systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to attract and retain customers. Understands customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products/services or refer to the appropriate team member. Completes everyday banking transactions on the teller line or platform while uncovering customer needs and educating on products and tools. Services customers on the teller line and platform, including opening/closing personal deposit accounts, daily transactions, debit/credit card issues, digital banking, and related services. Engages in lead management activities to create and manage self-generated leads and referrals, with outbound outreach and appointment setting.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity (volunteering, education, or military experience considered) Customer service skills preferred Ability to work during operating hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Teller experience preferred; completion of Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills; concise, clear, and consistent Problem-solving skills; ability to schedule and prioritize work; ability to work independently and meet deadlines Sound judgment in decision making and problem solving Proficient in Microsoft Office Notary License preferred

Customer Accountabilities

Provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD products to customers Build customer relationships with product knowledge and active listening; identify needs and offer solutions or referrals Manage wait times to schedule Banker meetings; support customer inquiries and resolutions Act as lobby lead and first point of contact for customer inquiries; facilitate appointments with experts as needed Support TD customer service strategy and compliance requirements Drive referrals to Store colleagues and partners to meet broader financial needs Ensure tasks comply with internal policies and procedures; complete required training Understand and follow compliance/risk and control programs; respond to audits and regulator requests; maintain action plans Comply with TD Code of Conduct

Shareholder Accountabilities

Follow policies and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) to minimize risk Process cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests Open/close accounts and perform servicing tasks; manage cash drawers within policy Ensure compliance with regulations, procedures, controls, and record-keeping; apply authentication principles Dual control when required; follow open/close procedures
